Is you perfectionism sabotaging your business?

Do you spend hours, if not days, obsessing over every detail?

Do you find yourself constantly tweaking and fine-tuning your projects, products or services, never feeling quite satisfied?

If you're running an online business, do you spend a ton of time changing your website, creating those "perfect" posts on Canva, and adjusting every transition and a comma on your reels?

While attention to detail is an essential trait for any successful leader and a business owner, being a perfectionist can actually hold you back from achieving your full potential. At some point, you need to launch that product or service and start generating revenue.

If you're tired of spinning your wheels and ready to take your life and business to the next level, you need to address the roots of this sabotaging trait.

"Embrace progress over perfection" they say, but it's not that easy if deep down you believe that it HAS TO be perfect, that nothing is ever good enough.

Here are a few reasons why perfectionism may be hurting your work & business:

Perfectionism slows you down: Spending too much time on minor details can hinder your productivity - launching new products or services might drag out for months! I know that many people who are paid per hour love squeezing every cent out of their employer, but you're not in that business, are you? You care for getting things done quickly and efficiently, right?

Perfectionism can cost you money: The longer you wait to launch a product or service, the more money you may be losing out on. Your competitors may be launching similar products or services while you're still fine-tuning.
The feelings of frustration, jealousy and anger that come with it are not pleasant to deal with either!

Perfectionism can hinder creativity: Over-focusing on small details can take your focus away from the bigger picture and can stifle creativity and innovation (seriously, no one cares if that line is straight or wonky!).

Perfectionism can lead to burnout: The pressure to be perfect can lead to stress, anxiety, and burnout, leaving you feeling exhausted and unfulfilled (having gone through this myself, I can confirm, being in this position really sucks!).

But how do you draw the line and decide that "good enough" is, in fact, good enough?

If you want to take your life and business to new heights and embrace progress over perfection, you can start here:

Set realistic goals and deadlines: Define clear goals and deadlines for your projects and stick to them.
Being overly ambitious doesn't help here either. I know you want to achieve it all but be realistic. If you don't clear perfectionism, this is the quickest way to self-sabotage.

Delegate tasks: Identify areas where you can delegate tasks to others on your team, allowing you to focus on the bigger picture, things that are important to you i.e. coaching, seeing clients, managing.

Focus on feedback: Rather than obsessing over minor details, put that thing out there! Feedback is what helps you know if the stuff you're producing is good or not. Feedback, ironically, can improve your perfectionism!

Address the real ROOT CAUSE: this perfectionism didn't come out of nowhere. There's a reason why you feel the need to behave this way. There is a reason why you took it on as a part of your identity. There is a reason why you put that label on yourself. You wouldn't consciously know when it happened but your Unconscious Mind holds all this info. A breakthrough session or taking the training will help you transform this limitation.

Celebrate your successes: Celebrate your successes, even the small ones - especially the small ones! Posting that video, sending that email, putting proposals and courses out, and recognize that progress really is more important than perfection!
